Theme Reveal for 2018!

How can it possibly be 2018 already?  It seems like just a few weeks ago that we rang in 2017!  Time sure waits for no one.  Each new year is similar to a large version of a new day.  There are new decisions and opportunities on a much grander scale.  Our family ends each year by praying and processing through what this new time can accomplish together.  Shortly after we started dating, we realized that our lives were running parallel with each other.  The trajectory of our lives were so similar in so many ways.  During conversations we realized these veins of cohesion followed specific themes.

January is officially upon us, and it is time for our theme reveal for 2018!  Through prayer and focus upon where we feel God is leading us, a certain trend became obvious for us...

Our 2017 Year-End Wrap-Up

Wow!  What a year 2017 has been!  There have been many high moments, a handful of sad moments and lots of memories mixed in there.  So here is our 2017 year-end wrap-up!

Our theme for this year has been Simplicity.  In our first blog of the year we stated our goals for the year would be to declutter our home allowing more time with our loved ones, reduce unnecessary stress especially for those things out of our control, and finally to create a plan for our time instead of hoping we accomplish our life and family goals.

Mom Guilt

I know I am not alone when I say Mom Guilt has a tendency to run my life.  In our home, there are two small humans running around.  They are needy and expect to be fed and entertained constantly.  Did I mention we are also finishing up potty training?  I am fortunate to be a stay at home mom, but that means I rarely get a break.  Upon arriving home on certain days, Jake realizes this mom has reached her max.  He tries to get me take a few minutes to myself, but then Mom Guilt rears itself.

It is difficult for Jake to understand this.  He wants me to go to our room and relax for a few minutes so that I can conquer the rest of the evening more refreshed.  But, that is so difficult for me to do.  I know his heart is in the right place...

Cheers to Easter and Abundant Life!

Happy Easter week everyone!  We appreciate all who take the time to read our blog and follow our posts on social media.  This week really sums up what Kingdom Trailhead represents.  And it also hints to our theme this year of simplicity.  The meaning of Easter is about one major theme – Life.

Jesus came to give us abundant life.

Christianity has been around for nearly 2,000 years and there are seemingly endless volumes of information about Him.  We have beyond too much material about Jesus.  What we need is His life-giving presence.  In Romans we read that we are saved by the life of Jesus, that we reign in life because of Jesus and that this life gives us the freedom of being set free from sin and death.
During this week we will mourn the death of Jesus and celebrate the resurrec...
